Topic 22 - Choices - Using the Microsoft Word Version vs. Using the STC Database Screens |
|
The Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plan is available as a Microsoft Word document or as screens within the Massachusetts School and Career Database. It can also be completed as a pen-and-paper document. The Word document is available online at http://skillslibrary.com/wbl.htm. Advantages of Using the Database Many program staff maintain a database of work-based learning plans, using the screens in the Massachusetts School to Career Database. You can write, spell check, save and print plans from the database. Having a database of plans allows you to re-use and adapt job descriptions, skills and tasks from other experiences. The database also helps staff to look at and analyze the skills used by participants in your programs and analyze patterns of skill gain. See Topic 30 - Skill Gain Reports to learn more about these reports. Read the statewide Skill Gain Report online at http://skillslibrary.com/wbl/report.htm. Advantages of Using the Word Version The Microsoft Word version was designed to make it easier to write WBL Plans off-site and to email WBL Plans to the office or to an employer site. Each WBL Plan is in its own Word document, making it very portable. |
